Around 77,000 Steam accounts are stolen every month

Valve strengthen security through a new app.

Valve launch an authentication system in two steps through its Mobile Authenticator app Steam Guard to protect the accounts of its users against relentless attacks from hackers that plague the digital store.
Through a post on its official blog, Valve have given details and exact figures of the problems they deal every month. The company estimates that more than 77,000 accounts are hacked every month, more experienced and higher volume of games have their main users being affected.

Two-step authentication and new trade policies

To combat this ever increasing problem, the company has launched its Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator application, to help us to log on two devices at a time so that, in theory, we can regain our own or shield her with new registry keys if you need. Steam has also adjusted the exchange system and sale of games.

Steam Guard official Mobile app is available for free on iOS and Android.
