TGN – Lab Zero’s role-playing game Indivisible reaches crowdfunding goal
The next game from Skullgirls developer Lab Zero has been successfully funded through Indiegogo. The developer’s Valkyrie Profile and Super Metroid-inspired Indivisible hit its $1.5 million target late on Tuesday, Dec. 1, with just a few days left in the crowdfunding campaign.
More than 25,000 backers have contributed to the campaign, which was extended last month after hitting a funding milestone. Lab Zero is co-financing the game with publisher 505 Games. A playable prototype of the game is available for Linux, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
Indivisible is a platformer-RPG hybrid based on southeast Asian and other world mythologies, according to Lab Zero. The game stars Ajna, a “good-natured tomboy with a rebellious streak” who goes “on a globe-spanning journey to discover the truth behind her mysterious powers. On her quest she’ll be joined by a variety of unique heroes and gain new abilities to traverse the environments and defeat the enemies they’ll encounter along the way.”
The game features a number of guest characters from other indie games, including Calibretto from Battle Chasers, The Drifter from Hyper Light Drifter, Juan fromGuacamelee!, Lea from Curses N’ Chaos, Red from Transistor, Shantae from the Shantae series, Shovel Knight from Shovel Knight and Zackasaurus from Super Time Force.
Lab Zero has announced two stretch goals for Indivisible: at $1.65 million, the game will feature more music from composer Hiroki Kikuta; and at $1.9 million, will include a “high-octane opening animation” from studio Titmouse and a “mystery anime studio.”
